Ain't got Time Pfhor This... is the twenty-fourth level in Marathon. It is the eighth and final level of The Pfhor, the fifth chapter of the game. The objective is to explore the whole level and deactivate an alien egg incubator.

This is the final Pfhor level in the game. You will encounter Pfhor Troopers and Wasps. There are also S'pht Compilers here, but from this point on, the Compilers are allies who will help you fight the other aliens.

There is a 2x shield recharger in the starting room. A little to the northeast of the starting room, a pattern buffer can be found.

Just like the other Pfhor levels in this game, there are no terminals to be found here.

Walkthrough[]

Use the 2x shield recharger next to you at the start of the level. Follow the path to a large room where Troopers are fighting Compilers. Because you destroyed the Controller Cyborg on the last level, the Compilers are your allies now. Get rid of the Troopers and use the pattern buffer so you don't have to redo the entire previous level.

Now go through the south door and follow the corridor, jumping over a few streams of alien slime. At a split in the path, you'll come across an Assault Rifle and some grenades.

Take the south path and use the buttons to open a door leading into a room with lots of mysterious alien eggs stored on a ledge; kill all the aliens in this room.

Now go back to the split in the path where you found the Assault Rifle and take the east path. It'll take you to a strange, large room with an alien egg in the center being repeatedly raised and lowered. There are a lot of non-aggressive Wasps on the walls here. Shoot the switch on the west wall (A1 on the map); it will reveal another switch on the east wall, A2, that you should shoot as well. This second switch will deactivate the egg-raising platform, so wait until the platform is at an accessible height.

After deactivating the egg incubator, jump across to the north end of the room. A teleporter there will send you to the east, to the egg storage room you visited earlier. You're now up on the ledge; go to the south and assist the Compilers who are killing the Troopers. Stand in front of the windows and Durandal will teleport you to Welcome to the Revolution...

The pattern buffer and 2x shield regenerator at the start of the level can be revisited at any point. In order to get back there, retrace your steps back to the beginning of the level. Point the flamethrower downwards and hold fire to fly up onto the ledge south of the pattern buffer room.

Trivia[]

  • The music for this level is a song titled New Pacific. It was previously heard on Pfhor Your Eyes Only... It is track #9.
  • When this map is opened in a map editor, a written message can be found outside the bounds of the level. It reads, "DCROMLEY".
  • The Assault Rifle and grenades in this level were placed there to ensure the player can hit the buttons in the egg incubator room. Story-wise, there seems to be no explanation why human weapons are lying in a random corridor on board an alien spaceship.
