Feel the Noise is the twenty-seventh level in Marathon 2: Durandal. It is the second level of S'pht'Kr, the ninth and final chapter of the game. In this underground, lava-filled area, you have to find the exit terminal while facing large numbers of Pfhor Hunters and Cyborgs. Along the way, you will be assisted by the S'pht'Kr.
There is a pattern buffer in the middle of the starting room. Because it's on a raised platform, it is not immediately accessible upon starting the level. A 2x shield recharger can be found on the same platform, along with a couple of 1x shield rechargers. A second pattern buffer is found in the western region of the map, in the final room of the level.
Walkthrough[]
There are lots of enemies in the starting room that will teleport in as you move around the area, but you can stay behind the S'pht'Kr and let them do most of the dirty work. You can find a bunch of ammo and a shield canister of each type (1x, 2x, and 3x) lying about on the bottom level of the room; make sure to check the side platforms across the lava pools too. As the level gets progressively more difficult, it's best to use the shield canisters in increasing order, saving the 3x canister for the final room.
At the south end of the room, you'll find some stairs leading out of the starting area. Follow the southeast path. It will soon turn west, leading to a lava-filled cave with two curving stairways along the walls.
Jump across the lava onto the left stairway, and follow it back around to a ledge to the east. Hit the button there, then jump across to another ledge northeast of your position. Follow the path until you reach a split in the path past the curving stairway. Take the right path to get back to the starting room.
Take the south exit out of the starting room again. In the next room, go through the north door this time. You'll come across a ledge overlooking the starting room; hit the button there to raise a bridge, and cross it to reach the central platform.
Use the pattern buffer and the 2x shield recharger here. The button in the shield recharger room activates a bridge to the north; use that bridge to cross to the level's northernmost area. An elevator platform in the middle of the room there will carry you to an upper ledge. Hit the switch in that upper area, then go south and jump back to the starting room's central area.
Now it's time to go to the level's final area. Pick up the 3x shield canister in the starting room if you didn't use it yet. Make your way back to the southeast corner of the level, then turn west to get to the curving stairways. Follow them back up like you did before to reach the split in the path on the west side of the level. Take the left path this time and drop down into a large room with numerous Hunters and Cyborgs, including a few Mother of all Cyborgs. Once you've killed them all, hit the switch to lower a platform on the west side of the room with more enemies on it, including a pair of Mother of all Hunters. You can stand by the edge of the lava pool, on the east side of the room, to cause some more S'pht'Kr to teleport in to help you deal with the enemies here.
Once you have cleared the area, access the exit terminal in the center of the room to be teleported to the final level, All Roads Lead To Sol...
- Tip: At the start of the level, you can rocket jump onto the central platform to get immediate access to the pattern buffer and 2x shield recharger, skipping part of the level. Just be ready to take out the Hunters there.
Terminals []

The first terminal message is from Durandal, who talks a bit about the mythical sword Durandal from medieval European folklore. He doesn't reveal much about how he managed to escape from Tycho's grasp after he was deactivated and downloaded into a containment unit, only stating that "The answer is simple: Tycho was a fool". He then tells you Thoth is now trying to aid the Pfhor, but fortunately, the Pfhor are ignoring him.
At the end of the level, Durandal says that the Pfhor are in retreat and the S'pht in Battle Group Seven have been freed from slavery. The S'pht have broken off the fight, as they are reforming their old clans. Durandal then tells you that a heavily damaged Pfhor assault ship carrying air armor units has landed on the far side of Lh'owon. He sends you there to deal with them.
