Rise Robot Rise is the second level in Marathon Infinity. It is the first level of Despair, the second chapter of the game.
Overview[]
The level starts in an elevator bringing you up to an Enforcer. Quickly get away and grab the pistols and ammo. The Fighters and Hunters in this level are friendly to you, unless you attack them. The only enemies in this level are the Enforcers.
After grabbing the pistols and ammo, kill the Enforcer and you'll get an Alien Weapon, then head to the nearby room with a pattern buffer, 2x shield recharger and a terminal from Tycho. He has captured you and you work for him to kill all of the Enforcers on the level so he can assume control of the ship. The exit terminal will take you to Poor Yorick (level) and continue your search for Captain R'chzne.
Terminals []
xpj399c001[]
This is a Pfhor terminal, but it contains a message from Tycho who addresses you as "conditioned unit 7". You just woke up from a slave tank, and you're aboard a Pfhor ship. Tycho is forcibly taking over the ship from the Pfhor captain. He orders you to help by killing all the Enforcers in the area.
frontx02.19[]
Tycho reveals that he has been following Durandal for the last eleven years. Tycho's ship has no Compilers on board, which will prevent Durandal from subverting them and sabotaging the ship.
Captain R'chzne took a dropship down to the planet, Lh'owon. He's trying to contact Lh'owon Command, but Tycho is jamming his transmissions. You are ordered to pursue and eliminate R'chzne.
111.commandoversight[]
This terminal contains a shipwide broadcast to all units aboard the ship. It is allegedly sent by Admiral Tfear, but in actuality it's a fake message from Tycho. The message orders the crew members to execute captain R'chzne and other high-ranking units, while simultaneously telling the high-ranking Pfhor not to surrender, effectively forcing a fight to the death.
Secrets[]
- At the bottom of the map is an area with Pfhor pieces and blood. If you go down the stairs leading to this area, the doors at the exit and entrance of it will close and it will flood with plasma. You can get out in time and get a 1x shield recharger. Follow the now opened path across the recharger and you'll eventually after dealing with a couple of Enforcers find a terminal and a Flamethrower.
- The elevator leading to the cave-like area has two columns in it. One of those goes up very fast and then back down. If you hit the switch and then stand on this platform you'll be taken to an Assault Rifle and ammo.
- At the same location as the ammo cache is a locked door which is unlocked by the switch close to the one that controls the elevator. You'll have to be very fast to reach the door before it close again. So it's much easier to accomplish in Co-op. Behind the door is a terminal which leads to Robot World Arena
Trivia[]
- You don't actually have to kill all the enforcers in the level, you just have to reach the exit. The map goal is set to Exploration, as setting it to Extermination would have had you kill all of the aliens.
