Thing What Kicks... is the tenth level in Marathon Infinity. It is the fourth level of the third chapter, Rage.

Durandal asks you to find the water treatment facility's control terminals to disable the pumps. This will flood numerous Pfhor emplacements and cut off their reinforcements, allowing the humans to overrun Lh'owon Command.
The human teams have managed to activate the S'pht AI, but it isn't very cooperative. Also, a fleet of Pfhor warships is rapidly approaching the system.

This is a personal log made by the Pfhor commander Re'eer. The commander believes that a Nar seer called Robnar, who was captured and tortured by the Pfhor, was able to predict the future. Re'eer faked his own death to be able to devote all his time to studying the recorded words of Robnar; he thinks that the seer foretold of the upcoming destruction of Lh'owon.

This is the Pfhor control terminal that the player was sent to find. While it's usually possible to disable the facility's pumps from this terminal, that is not the case in this level. The Pfhor have locked out the control systems, and this terminal displays an "access denied" error message.

Durandal contacts you through this terminal. While he didn't expect the Pfhor to disable the control terminals, he's come up with an alternative plan. He tells you to find and smash some nearby control circuits to sabotage the water treatment plant.

If you haven't destroyed the control circuits yet, Durandal will send you a condescending terminal message reminding you of your objective.
Once you have sabotaged the Pfhor facility, Durandal will tell you that the plan worked: Lh'owon Command is flooded with sludge. However, Durandal's ship is taking heavy fire and his Compilers are malfunctioning (likely due to Tycho, who talked about sabotaging Compilers in other timelines) as admiral Tfear's flagship is approaching. Durandal needs access to the Pfhor network, and sends you off to a Pfhor command complex to install two uplink chips. The upcoming mission Durandal describes may sound familiar—it is actually the first mission of Marathon 2.
