Unpfhorgiven is the nineteenth level in Marathon. It is the third level of The Pfhor, the fifth chapter of the game. It takes place on board the Pfhor spaceship. Durandal sent you here to look for Bernard Strauss. The objective is to explore all parts of the level.

In this level you'll face Pfhor Fighters, Hunters, Wasps and Lookers. There are some exploding BOBs in prison cells as well.

There are two pattern buffers to be found here. One is found at the end of a northbound tunnel on the lower level. Another one is located in the east part of the level, at the end of a long secret corridor. That secret pattern buffer room also contains a 3x shield recharger. Additionally, a 2x shield recharger can be found at the west end of the level, next to the BOB prison cells.

Just like the other Pfhor levels in this game, there are no terminals to be found here.

Walkthrough[]

In this level, there are no Enforcers dropping Alien Weapons, and the Pfhor obviously have no caches of human ammo lying around on their ship either, so don't use your weapons too wastefully.

From the starting point, make your way eastwards, then north through the corridor. You'll soon find pool of slime in the middle of a corridor. There's a split in the path here; you can either go north or west.

The ultimate objective is to explore everywhere; it's up to you to choose which way to go. If you want the fastest route to the pattern buffer, go through the north door and go down the elevator in the north wall just around the corner. Follow the lower tunnels north, then west, then south until you reach a split in the path. The tunnel to the north ends at a pattern buffer.

From the first split in the level at the little slime pool, you can keep heading west to reach the BOB detention facilities (room A on the map). There's a 2x shield recharger here. The teleporter to the south takes you to a small room behind the prison cells. From here you can head north to explore more of the level, but the wall panels here are hidden doors you can open to murder release the BOBs if you like. Be careful, some BOBs are exploding Simulacrums.

Once you've explored the whole level, make your way to the large southeast room and look out the window towards the UESC Marathon. Durandal will teleport you to Two Times Two Equals...

A secret door can be opened in a blue corridor in the middle of the map. Go to the point where a northbound corridor with a square pillar in the middle of the hallway makes a sharp U-turn to the south. At the U-turn, one of the north wall panels is a secret door. Follow the long corridor behind it all the way to the room marked B on the map. Kill the enemies here, including the Hunters in the side alcoves. Jump across the moving platform in the middle of the room to find a pattern buffer and a 3x shield recharger just to the north.

Trivia[]

  • The music for this level is a song titled New Pacific (Reprise). It is track #10.
